Helix HEC HD-Audio USB Interface for DSP Mini MK2
The HEC HD-Audio USB Interface is a plug-in extension module that adds a high resolution USB audio input to your Helix DSP, turning a laptop, phone or tablet into an HD audio player. This version, part number HP40044, is made for the Helix DSP Mini MK2, and Helix list it as compatible with that unit only.
Music travels digitally from the source straight into the DSP at up to 192 kHz / 32 Bit with no extra conversion, and an asynchronous USB link with its own clock generators keeps jitter to a minimum.
It has two modes. Full Speed mode (default) works with Windows, macOS, Android and iOS devices up to 96 kHz / 32 Bit with no driver needed. High Speed mode allows up to 192 kHz / 32 Bit, and Windows needs an extra driver above 96 kHz. Android phones need a USB-C to mini USB cable or a micro USB OTG cable, and Apple devices need a USB-C to mini USB cable or the Apple Camera Connection Kit. Helix state iPhones up to generation 16 are supported, but generation 17 is not, and the interface cannot charge your phone.
