Helix Amplify 204 Direct

The Helix Amplify 204 Direct is a very compact 4 channel amplifier from the Amplify 2-Series, made to be fed by an external DSP or DSP amplifier. It delivers 4 x 100 W RMS at 4 Ohms, 4 x 190 W RMS at 2 Ohms or 2 x 380 W RMS bridged at 4 Ohms, so it works as a classic 4 channel, a 3 channel with a subwoofer on the bridged pair, or a bridged 2 channel amplifier.

“Direct” means Helix’s DirectDSP inputs. There is no conventional input filtering, no crossover and no bass boost in the signal path. Your DSP does all the filtering and tuning, and the amplifier simply amplifies that signal as cleanly and transparently as possible. A quality gain stage and clipping LED make level setting easy, and a stereo/mono switch on each stereo input allows bridged operation from a single RCA signal without a Y-adaptor.

It runs from a normal 12 V supply (10.5 to 16 V), rides through start-stop dips down to 6 V for up to 5 seconds, and its removable top cover keeps the install neat.

Features

  • 4 channel Class D amplifier, fully bridgeable
  • 4 x 100 W RMS at 4 Ohms, 4 x 190 W RMS at 2 Ohms, 2 x 380 W RMS bridged at 4 Ohms
  • DirectDSP inputs made for Helix DSPs, no input filtering in the signal path
  • Stereo/mono switch per stereo input for bridged operation from a single RCA signal
  • Clipping LED for fast, accurate gain adjustment
  • Start-stop capable, holds up for up to 5 seconds down to 6 V
  • Very compact 248 x 118 mm footprint with removable top cover
